Who We Are
For more than a century, Big Brothers Big Sisters has been helping change kids’ perspectives and giving them the opportunity to reach their potential.
Since 1904, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is incredible potential. As the nation’s largest donor- and volunteer-supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 5 through young adulthood in communities across the country. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.
Passion for the Mission
It’s not enough to say we are committed to Internal Communications. We have to work intentionally and diligently to bring about change in our organization and our communities. To defend the potential of all young people, we must ensure all young people have the opportunity to have a strong mentoring relationship in their lives. We are actively working to promote justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion throughout our organization. This commitment extends not only to an inclusive hiring and recruitment practice, but also to the policies, processes, and procedures that our staff, families, mentors, donors, and community partners rely upon to create connections within the 5000+ communities that Big Brothers Big Sisters operate within.
