Position Purpose
As a direct report of the Vice President, People & Culture, the Senior Manager, Payroll & Benefits is a specialized operational role responsible for the accurate, compliant, and timely administration of payroll, benefits, and HR systems for the organization. This role serves as the single point of accountability for payroll execution, tax and audit compliance, HRIS data integrity, and benefits administration, ensuring employees are paid correctly, benefits are administered effectively, and systems operate with precision and reliability.

Location: Continental United States (100% remote), East Coast Time Zone Preferred

Education & Related Work Experience
Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience. SHRM-CP, HRCI or other certification a plus.
Work Experience: 5-8 years experience managing payroll required; background in a non-profit or mission-driven organization is a bonus but not required. A minimum of 5 years of experience with HRIS systems is required. UKG Ready System experience is a plus but not required.
Skills and Knowledge: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills; Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines; Solution-oriented; advanced analytical and problem-solving skills; Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate; Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality;
Thorough, current knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations; Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software; Proficiency with (highly preferred) or the ability to quickly learn HRIS and talent management systems. UKG a plus but not required; Familiarity with non-profit sector challenges and HR best practices.
