Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, located in Tampa, FL, is looking for a Project Analyst to manage grants projects. This position will report to the Director of Foundation Grants and will be responsible for data and program analysis and project management. This position requires a Bachelor's degree; Education or Social Sciences is strongly preferred. Intermediate Statistical Analysis Software knowledge preferred, such as SPSS, SAS/STATA.

Position Purpose

Project Analyst helps support the mission of BBBSA by working with the Foundation Grants Department (FGD) team to oversee selected grant pilot projects and programming. The analyst assists in enhancing the visibility of BBBSA as an outcome-driven, evidence-based organization to multiple stakeholders. This position is responsible for collaborating with internal and external colleagues to analyze project and program data; co-develop and implement procedures and systems for monitoring and reporting data to internal and external stakeholders; compile pilot project best practices to inform effective roll-out to the network; and apply evaluation techniques to help bring new programs and program enhancements to scale.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Helps develop comprehensive project plans and evaluation protocols to best capture data to track progress and monitor key deliverables, involving all relevant stakeholders.
  • Oversees selected grant projects, program enhancements, and initiatives, collaborating closely with FGD, other BBBSA departments and BBBS agencies where applicable.
  • Supports and assists with internal and external evaluation and data analysis activities for grant-funded projects to align with innovative programming strategies, outcomes reporting, and project summaries.
  • Forges partnerships with other organizations, where appropriate and with guidance from Director, Foundation Grants, in order to meet program/project goals.
  • Works with external experts and manages contractors to bring relevant expertise to program/project.
  • Ensures grant projects are completed on-time, within the scope of the project/grant, and meets or exceeds funder expectations by tracking and measuring project performance using appropriate tools and techniques for stakeholder support and engagement.
  • Monitors project scopes, schedules, and costs; escalates risks and/or issues to Director, Foundation Grants; and advises potential changes and/or resolutions to be made.
  • Provides internal and external project reporting and discusses with the Director, Foundation Grants any corrective actions needed.
  • Assists with writing high quality, data-driven reports by collecting and analyzing data that integrates outcomes, shows impact, and highlights key findings which meet deliverables, informs programming, addresses marketing messaging, and supports successful funder stewardship.
  • Assists Agency Support Department with roll-out and monitoring/testing of new or adapted strategies; implementation process of new programs and program enhancements; and evaluation of national and agency-level innovation program initiatives to help improve the turnaround of innovation work.
  • Collaborates with BBBSA internal teams, including Agency Support and Training, to roll out new programs to the network by compiling BBBSA’s suggested best practices, program trainings, enhancement tools, technical assistance, and other resources to successfully scale up programs.
  • Assists with the preparation of future grant applications including narrative components.
  • Other duties as assigned.
