Summary of Opportunity:

The Manager, Corporate Development Strategies (M-CDS) will be a direct report to the National Vice President of Development & Corporate Engagement and will have responsibility for corporate fundraising supports and account management. The M-CDS will be an active contributor to the fundraising efforts for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and will have the responsibility for high-level interaction and strategic involvement with corporate, foundation and other decision makers. The M-CDS supports the entirety of the corporate development team in creating successful, long-standing partnerships, flawless execution, stewardship, and overall management of National accounts.

BBBSA currently has a diverse and active portfolio of accounts with private sector firms and this role aims to deepen and develop those partnerships while also continuing to prospect and launch new, innovative alliances. To do so, the M-CDS will have four priority work areas: 1) Supporting the stewardship of existing partnerships 2) Building out and executing concepts associated with new partnerships 3) Supporting the growth goals for annual campaign revenue and 4) Ensuring all components of assigned partnerships are achieved, tracked, and maintained at best-in-class standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Engage leaders throughout the BBBSA Network of 230+ local agencies in executing integrated partnership opportunities to bring proposals/agreements to scale. Recommend new procedures and tools to improve synergies throughout the BBBSA Network and between National team departments to realize the goal of expanded impact through transformative partnerships.
  • Attend relevant cause marketing or special events, conferences, or webinars to support existing account needs, to discover new initiatives and/or to identify prospects aligned to BBBSA strategic growth plans.
  • Oversee administration of applicable pass-through funding to local BBBS Agencies, monitor financial performance and execution of contracted deliverables at the Network level.
  • Coordinate and complete the development of formal performance reports (gratitude & impact reporting) for each corporate development account at least annually.
  • Plan and lead quarterly account review sessions with Corporate Development team members to ensure spending is on target and deliverables are being met.
  • Secure and guide in kind support from all corporate partners.
  • Create innovative workplace solutions designed to engage corporate partners in plans for achieving breadth and depth with our JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion) principles.
  • Serve as a constant resource for any corporate partner and/or BBBSA Network activation issues; accountable for ensuring resolution; prompt response to internal and external customer needs is paramount.
  • Participate in national conferences and collaborations with strategic third parties which further the organization’s mission.
  • Work with BBBSA Development and Marketing and Communications teams, including Integrated Communications, to tell the story of impact and promote success stories, in line with corporate partner initiatives.
  • Maintain current knowledge of philanthropic brands and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) strategies to develop and help deploy partnership proposals that align with corporate giving trends. Ensure activation concepts align with mission-centered engagements, employee engagement, and consumer activation trends.
  • Share National resources for brand awareness campaigns and key affinity months/days with all corporate partners.
  • Supports the key deliverables of the Corporate Development Directors including conference sponsorship, year-end giving, key affinity month activations, donor impact and reporting (annual report, society recognition), third party resources, internal systems alignment, and Network activations.
  • Assist in the design and optimization of the strategic partnerships process and account management cadence across the Network utilizing Salesforce and other internal project management resources (Asana, SharePoint). Ensure corporate development internal facing resources are updated and maintained for Network access

Education & Related Work Experience

Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree in nonprofit management, business, marketing, communications (or related education) or equivalent relevant experience.

Years of Related Work Experience: A minimum of 4 years of demonstrated successful resource development support, sales and/or account management experience.
