Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA), the National Office for the Big Brothers Big Sisters network, is growing! We are looking for a dedicated Financial Analyst to join our team. We desire a candidate in greater Tampa, FL; position may be flexible to other markets.

In this role, the Financial Analyst will examine financial data and use their findings to help BBBSA make business decisions and forecast future revenue and expenditures to help determine budgets for upcoming projects, including grant analysis.

The Financial Analyst will be well informed in current financial subjects, accounting, tax laws, and business environments, have demonstrated experience in budgeting and forecasting, and have a high proficiency in financial modeling techniques.

The Financial Analyst will have a Bachelor’s Degree in finance or a related field and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial analysis, data analysis, or other relevant experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Analysis

  • Reviews complex financial accounting work processes, systems, and procedures for efficient workflow and conformity with accounting principles.
  • Perform financial analysis of grants, operational metrics, and other departmental reports.
  • Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support of the organization
  • Report on financial performance and prepare for regular leadership reviews
  • Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and makes recommendations for improvements
  • Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
  • Identify and drive process improvement, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards.
  • Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools


  • Build and maintain budget and forecast templates for use by managers.
  • Create ad hoc templates, reports, and analysis for use by managers to evaluate current and future forecasts.
  • Monitor disbursements and research problems to identify issues and recommend corrections.
  • Monitors spending to ensure it remains in budget.
  • Prepare monthly reports to present financial data, progress, and other performance indicators for briefings or presentations for senior leaders.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality of all pertinent information.
